Cindy Hall

I grew up in a small quaint town at the foot of the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. As the oldest of three grandchildren, my Granny had a profound influence on me with her resilience and passion for life, despite experiencing the loss of two husbands before age 45. I learned from her independence and determination, as she retired early at the age of 59-1/2, a rarity in the late 1980s. I witnessed her love of life as she embraced every opportunity for adventure.

At 18, I began my journey in the furniture industry. I saw a job posting on my community college bulletin board and started as a part-time Data ProcessingClerk. After 18 months, I moved to the Customer Service Department, where I learned the ins and outs of customer care. Realizing I wanted more, I went back to college, earned my Bachelor's in Business, and started climbing the corporate ladder. Like my Granny, I faced many obstacles, but I persevered with grit and determination. I aspired to bring a creative touch to an industry dominated by men, despite women being the main decision- makers in furniture purchases.
